Ian Baron, Managing Director of ESG, is appointed as Interim Chief Executive of Cadogan Petroleum PLC, an independent oil company with exploration and production assets in Ukraine. Ian maintains his position as Managing Director of ESG.

ESG awarded contracts to plan and supervise drilling operations on Khor Mor field, Northern Iraq and conduct a rig acceptance inspection for an independent UAE operator. Separately ESG was awarded a contract to supervise drilling operations for an independent operator in Pakistan.

11th January 2009

ESG awarded advanced seismic sequence stratigraphy project for the Umm Al Dalkh field, offshore Abu Dhabi, UAE. The study will use leading edge software to identify geological sequences in the Cretaceous Mishrif reservoir using 3D seismic in order to aid further development drilling and reservoir modelling.

ESG awarded contract for Lower Fars Heavy Oil and Steam Supply study in Kuwait. The study includes, network modelling, facilities concept design and steam supply for a major shallow Heavy Oil development.

ESG awarded a contract to provide overall operations management and plan and manage drilling operations for the development of Songkhla Field in the Gulf of Thailand for an independent operator. Separately a contract was awarded for the provision and implementation of HSE policies and procedures for the Songkhla development.

ESG awarded major subsurface reservoir definition study for the underdeveloped Jurassic reservoirs of onshore Kuwait. The study will focus on specialised reservoir sedimentology, petrography and supporting analytical services.

ESG awarded an EOR water flood study on Kuwait’s Umm Gudair Field. The project will assess the results of a pilot waterflood, including the effects of corrosion on subsurface equipment and reservoir, and provide an optimum waterflood management strategy.

ESG awarded a major contract to provide full project management services for exploration work programme in onshore Kenya for a US independent operator. The work includes budget and work programme, subsurface evaluation, geological play assessment, and seismic interpretation, prospect mapping, resource evaluation, economic assessment, and design of 3D seismic. A further contract was awarded for provision of a Country Manager to direct operations in Nairobi.

ESG requested to prepare the annual reserves report and update the 10KSB submission for a US Independent oil and gas operator.

1st January 2008

ESG awarded a reservoir definition study on undeveloped Jurassic reservoir of Kuwait’s largest Burghan Field. The study will include reservoir sedimentology and petrography based on core analysis and well logs.

November 2007

ESG awarded a contract to analyse potential deals for a Canadian start-up oil and company, including the construction of economic models, resource evaluation, and general petroleum engineering support.

August 2007

ESG updated its evaluation of a producing asset in the Timan-Pechora Basin, northern Russia. The work involved the detailed analysis of production history from fourteen wells in the field, preparation of field-wide production forecasts and economic analysis.

8th July 2007

ESG awarded a contract to assess gas utilization for all major fields in onshore and offshore Abu Dhabi, UAE. The study will evaluate the success of current gas injection and gas recycling projects and recommend optimum EOR processes.

ESG successfully completed a valuation of various North African assets for a Middle Eastern client, involving a data room in Cairo and presentation of the geoscience and engineering opinions.

May 2007

ESG performed an evaluation of a 1,000-well onshore oilfield in Azerbaijan for a US client. The work involved the development of a bespoke tool to evaluate redevelopment opportunities in the field and generate full-field production forecasts, which were then taken through to economic evaluation.

8th March 2007

ESG awarded a major reservoir definition study and full field review of the Uwainat reservoir in Qatar’s Dukhan Field. The project involves 3D geological modelling and petrophysical well log evaluation of a complex undeveloped reservoir.
